Erica Beck grew up on a cow/calf operation in Iowa and earned two degrees in sports management and criminal justice before moving west to Washington. After a stint in athletics, she realized she far preferred working with farmers and ranchers to athletes and got back into ag business. She is now the communications manager for the USA Dry Pea & Lentil Council, still landing the job even after freely admitting that beef cattle were her first love and weren't likely to be replaced with peas and lentils.
