Sticky Notes

Posted on March 23, 2010 08:42 by Chelsea Good

 Welcome to my kitchen!

I wanted to follow up on something I mentioned in my Resolving to Benefit the Beef Industry in 2010 blog post. In that post, I encouraged readers to make an industry-related new years resolution. One option I talked about was resolving to make three positive impressions on behalf of the industry a week. This could range from talking to someone in line at the grocery store about what you do to responding to a news article presenting misinformation about the beef industry.

One way I suggested for staying accountable is placing three numbered sticky notes in a prominent place at the beginning of the week and crossing them out when you make the positive impression. Below you can see the notes on my fridge. Pink are my positive beef industry impressions, green are going to the gym three times a week and the notes below them are my to do, to contact and to buy lists (great timesaver by the way – knock someone off the to contact list when you only have a couple minutes to spare and grab the to buy list on your way out the door to go shopping).

The sticky note method might not be for everyone. I’ll admit I’m a bit of a Post-it junkie.  Maybe it’d be more effective for you to schedule an “agvocacy” block in your daytimer and use the time set aside to make your positive impressions. The point is to make a plan and stick to it. I’ll check back in and let you know what my positive impressions end up being this week.

Have a great week!

Chelsea
